Real Madrid have confirmed their new captain order for the upcoming 2024/25 season following the departure of legendary midfielder Luka Modrić. With Xabi Alonso taking charge as head coach, the leadership structure at the Santiago Bernabéu has been reshuffled.
Veteran right-back Dani Carvajal will wear the armband as Real Madrid’s first captain. He will be followed by Federico Valverde as the second captain, while Brazilian star Vinícius Júnior takes the third spot. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois rounds out the list as the fourth captain.
The announcement comes just weeks after Barcelona were eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals held in the United States — a result that added extra motivation for Los Blancos ahead of the new campaign.
Real Madrid will kick off their La Liga title defense on August 19 with an away clash against Osasuna.
