Report: Rodrygo Among City’s Options as Potential Savinho Replacement

Home

Manchester City are reportedly weighing up a move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo as a possible replacement for Savinho, should the Brazilian forward leave the club this summer, according to transfer expert Matteo Moretto.

Moretto claims that Real Madrid will not entertain offers below €100 million for the 24-year-old, who remains a key figure at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Just days ago, Spanish outlet AS reported that Rodrygo had decided to stay with Los Blancos for the upcoming season. The Brazilian international is focused on improving his performances and earning the trust of new head coach Xabi Alonso.

Rodrygo’s contract runs until 2028 and includes a staggering €1 billion release clause. Since joining Real Madrid from Santos in 2019 for €45 million, he has played 270 matches, scoring 68 goals and winning major honours including two UEFA Champions League titles and three La Liga trophies.

The winger began his career at Santos’ academy at the age of 10 before making his senior debut in 2017. His breakthrough quickly attracted Europe’s biggest clubs, with Madrid eventually securing his signature in June 2018.

Rodrygo has also been a regular for Brazil’s senior national team since 2019, further solidifying his reputation as one of South America’s most talented attackers.
